I think the &#039;gods and demigods&#039; section speaks to the truth behind the First Commandment- that it says &#039;His&#039; people are to have no other gods before (that is, revered more than) &#039;Him&#039;, not that there aren&#039;t others. The &#039;opposer&#039;, thus, is another deity with his own realm. Hard to say whether they both have existed since the &#039;dawn of time&#039; or not, but I suppose in the end it doesn&#039;t much matter- they&#039;re treating each other as equals in this instance, and thus they may as well be considered as such. They are also referring to humanity as their children, implying it was a collaborative effort..? Interesting detail that seems to have been &#039;overlooked&#039; in Genesis... Which is quite possible.

The speech about finding our own path seems quite fitting, really.
