Rabid Wombat is on the mark. As a summary or short-hand explanation, Peterford ends up as a sort of messiah figure for a rather long and convoluted time-travel arc that was finally concluded and came full-circle somewhat recently. The comic subsequently returned to its more mundane video game store hijinks.
